To achieve this “sought-after” look, (201) Bride teamed up with area bridal boutiques and designers to showcase “Hollywood Glam” at its best.
HAIR PIECE
The silk taffeta floral hair pin ($200) is both designed and available at Jaehee Bridal Atelier in Englewood. This piece would work best with the bride’s hair pulled back into a low chignon or French twist, as one can appreciate and better see the pin. If, the bride should choose to wear the pin with the hair down, make sure to pull stray hairs off the face and tuck behind the nape of the neck. This will ensure visibility of the various layers and detailing of the silk flower.
JEWELRY
This striking collar necklace ($450) is part of Nancy Redisch's Metal Mesh Collection. Redisch says, “The design concept is based on the vintage collars men wore in years past.” It is constructed of stainless steel wires laced with Swarovski crystals, with both white and silver dyed freshwater pearls. The closure is a sparkling antique rhinestone button. Every piece is individually created, and no two are exactly the same. Custom colors and variations are also available.”
Redisch’s matching Capri cuff bracelet ($275) is also a product of the Metal Mesh Collection. Redisch explains, “The cuff is a beautiful compliment to the collar, but certainly makes a statement on its own as well.” It is a densely woven creation of stainless steel wiring embellished with freshwater pearls and Swarovski crystals. The cuffs are available in a range of metals including gold toned, copper, and a mix of a variety of colors accented with accompanying pearls, beads, stones and crystals.”
Interested brides can contact Nancy Redisch at (201) 767-4228, e-mail ntrdesigns@gmail.com, or visit nancyredischdesigns.com. Bcc Salon in Tenafly, The Engle Shop in Englewood and Brides Best Friend in Englewood all carry her collection.
THE DRESS
The “Paris” gown ($5,700) designed by Marina K. Couture, is a silk satin duchesse dress and trumpet skirt with pick-ups and chapel train. The strapless bodice features a built-in corset with Chantilly lace overlay, delicate satin draping and Swarovski crystal beading. The gown is available in either white or ivory.
Ilanit Habot, vice president of marketing for Marina K. USA headquartered in Teaneck, explains that a trumpet silhouette is very popular among the brides. She says, “It is important for the bride to have a gown that is both comfortable and easy to move in. This gown is made of the highest quality of silk satin, the fabric breathes perfectly with the body, and bride will not sweat in it quite like she may in synthetic fabrics. This particular design gown has a built-in corset, which requires no bra and can be modified for the bride’s desires as example: sweet heart neck line, straps, more or no crystals, etc.”
